Isaiah 40:31

But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles.

Caiti's Journey as of Thanksgiving 2010

Wow! There is so much to tell and only a tiny bit of time I can ditch studying for finals...;-) I guess the best place to start would be at the beginning...let's see what I can come up with! Over the course of the summer, I had been having some back pain - nothing extraordinary or uber-painful, but enough for me to notice and then promptly forget about. After school had started we found out about Carrie's Scoliosis (see her "Journey"). I guess that this made us all more aware of our aches and pains and one friday night after sending my dad off to get baby formula, (a very important item at our house) my mom and I jumped and jumped on the trampoline! It was a lot of fun, but my back started hurting pretty bad. Sooooo, after my dad got home, he and my mom and I were all sitting on our back porch and talking. I told my dad about my backache and he wanted to look at it. So later that night both he and my mom looked at my back and said that it would be better to be safe than sorry and that we would have Dr. Fuh look at my back after Caroline's first session, which was on a Tuesday September 28th. Tuesday afternoon, I brought some schoolwork (which, by the way DIDN'T get done) and waited in the waiting room while Carrie started her session. Eventually Dr. Fuh got to me-he said that he didn't think that I had it but because my dad really wanted an X-Ray, he took one. It was a very hurried job and it seemed to me that he shot the film too high. But, I reasoned, he IS the chiropractic-he knows what he's doing! Anyway, after the X-Ray, I watched part of Iron Man on my dad's Ipad-that is, until he reminded me of my schoolwork I had so conveniently forgotten!;-) FINALLY Dr. Fuh got back to us and his first question was to my dad-"Did you think she had scoliosis?" OK-DUH!!! Of course he did!!!! But my dad said yes and Dr. Fuh said that yes I had scoliosis-and rather severely! He explained that a 10-15 degree curve is a mild case and that I had a 50 degree lumbar (lower spine) curve-!! In addition, my pelvis was very twisted-it was TILTED 25 degrees and TWISTED 6 degrees! WOW! And even though I kind of expected it, it was still very startling to hear! He said that I needed to start treatment and that I should come back ASAP! It was Thursday, I believe when we came back- he took more X-Rays and then proceeded to tell me that I had the neck of a professional boxer. . .SAY WHAT?!?! Evidently your neck is supposed to be roughly around 45 degrees...mine was negative 15...YIKES! This is supposedly due to the fact that I fell out of bed and broke my collarbone when i was 3....hmmmm. Anyway, I started treatment the next Monday, and I have been going every Monday(1:30pm-5:00pm), Tuesday(9:30am-12:00pm) and Thursday(1:30pm-5:00pm) with Caroline! We have gotten to know Dr. and Mrs. Fuh very well! Thats all that I can think of for now!
Thanks for reading about my journey thus far :-)
